Did I stage this shot? I absolutely, positively did - please don't @ me 🙃With the New Year on the horizon, some would say it's the "perfect" time to reset but I'd have to respectfully disagree. January is convenient but there's no perfect time, only a perfect time FOR YOU! Don't let all the New Year, New Me posts pressure you into putting something together when you're not ready or rushing you through your process.Do I believe in setting goals?Absolutely.Do I believe in holding yourself accountable?Yep, sure do.Do I believe in tracking your progress?YES to the nth degreeBUT I also believe you can start whenever you want & restart over and over again until you find a good rhythm; we are our own worst critique so no one else can tell you whether or not you're trying your best.So I started planning my 2022 goals in November. Why am I just posting this now, you ask? Because I'm just horrible with posting content consistently. (Sidebar: Consistency is my Q1 theme so you will see improvement ✌🏼) Using the Artist of Life workbook has really helped me organize + prioritize my goal. Most importantly, it's helped me break down my goals down into smaller action items ~ which are wayyy less intimidating. I even did it in front of NYPD ~ consider me a renegade 🤭We walked so much - I felt no guilt eating what we did, whenever we did. Also, no picture of the pizza we had.. I did something incredibly frightening yesterday. I put in my deposit for a styled shoot in New Mexico 🙈It's frightening because I know no one, I'll be shooting with other photographers for the first time & quite honestly, it's frightening because I wonder if I'm even talented enough to participate in something like that? Is there a competency test I need to pass first? Do I need to have had my first paid gig? Is there a certain shutter count I should've surpassed?I know it's self-doubt rearing its ugly head but I'm going to do it anyway! I'm telling that annoying voice to kick rocks ✌🏼 ain't nobody got time for that.@cactusandpine.co - here I come!

salut, je m'appelle christiane 🤍Fun fact: I actually took a French class last year. Unfortunately, I didn't see things through and ended up withdrawaling ~ I just fell too far behind. I was just working far, far FAR too many hours to keep up (all my agency friends, iykyk)This weekend's Marie Antoinette-themed tea party has inspired me to revisit this goal. I was so incredibly excited when my little cousin told me she was engaged but EVEN MORE excited when she asked if I could take their engagement photos 💍I was like~ YES, duh of course (& secretly I was nervous as heck about it because I wanted to do a good job)The reaction they gave me when I delivered their gallery, that's what I want to bottle up & keep forever. It's moments like this that I know I'm living my purpose ✨
